In this role, you will conduct independent audits of hospice operations, review clinical and billing documentation, support responses to payer audits, and help leaders address compliance risks. What you'll do Audit hospice operations, clinical documentation, and billing practices for compliance with Medicare requirements, accreditation standards, and company policies. Coordinate responses to Additional Documentation Requests (ADRs) and other payer or government audits. Review records for completeness, track audit deadlines and outcomes, and escalate documentation gaps. Analyze findings and denial trends, identify root causes, and prepare reports for leadership. Track corrective action plans and conduct follow-up audits to confirm improvements are effective. Monitor regulatory changes, support policy updates, and assist with compliance investigations and QAPI activities. Qualifications A current RN license to practice in at least one state served by Ascend Hospice is preferred. Candidates without an RN license must hold at least one of these certifications: CHC, CHCA, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS . Experience in healthcare compliance, auditing, hospice operations, Medicare reviews, ADR management, medical record review, reimbursement, or regulatory oversight. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and report writing skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related healthcare experience are preferred. Hospice, home health, or post-acute experience is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Medicare hospice regulations, government audits, QAPI, or CHAP accreditation is a plus. This position involves extensive computer and medical record review, with periodic travel to agency locations as needed. Ascend Hospice is an equal opportunity employer.
