Material Damage Field Appraiser As a Material Damage Field Appraiser, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers by providing timely, accurate, and professional vehicle damage assessments. Working independently in the field, you'll inspect damaged vehicles, prepare detailed repair estimates, negotiate claim settlements, and help customers navigate the claims process with confidence and care. In this role, you'll conduct onsite vehicle inspections, prepare accurate estimates using industry-standard estimating platforms, manage supplemental damage assessments, and support customer drive-in appointments. You'll also collaborate on related claim activities, including subrogation, salvage, total loss evaluations, and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) referrals, ensuring each claim is resolved efficiently and accurately. We're seeking a knowledgeable claims professional with strong technical estimating skills, sound judgment, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives while working independently with minimal supervision, and serves as a trusted resource for fellow claims professionals. This position is based in the Miami, Florida area, and candidates must reside within the local market to effectively service their assigned territory. A company vehicle is provided , allowing you to focus on delivering outstanding service while working in the field. About the ROLE Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as a Material Damage Field Appraiser in Claims, you will: o Perform photo based and onsite vehicle inspections to assess auto property damage. o Prepare detailed, accurate estimates using approved estimating platforms. o Identify repair needs and negotiate same with repair facilities. o Ensure prompt and timely resolutions according to company goals and guidelines. o Conduct onsite supplement reviews with repair facilities. o Evaluate total loss vehicles per company guidelines. o Handle special projects as needed. o Adhere to compliance training to meet state and federal laws. o Continued education to hold and maintain required licenses. o Work independently in the field with minimal supervision. o Serve as a technical resource for claims personnel and assist with complex claim scenarios. o Build strong working relationships with repair facilities, vendors, and internal teams. About YOU Required o Must live in the Miami, Florida area o 5 years of P&C insurance background with a minimum of 3 years automotive appraisal experience. o Significant knowledge of repair and total loss techniques and statutory requirements are necessary. o Spanish-English bilingual proficiency o Valid Driver's License Preferred o Undergraduate Degree. Physical Requirements o Prolonged periods sitting in a car and at a desk working on the computer. o Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.
