ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Serve as a positive representation of Heritage Cooperative s Core Values Provide Superior Customer Service Highest Standards of Integrity and Trust Continuous Improvement Being a Good Partner GRAIN Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers Assist or direct walk-in customers in a polite and professional manner Advise customers by escorting them to products and suggesting items by providing information on products Handle customer inquiries as it relates to product offerings, pricing, billing, etc Operate cash registers and receive payments by processing checks, cash, and store or other credit cards Understand and apply learning regarding tax exempt requirements with ability to gather documentation to support tax exempt status of customers Document each sale by creating or updating customer profile records Complete operational duties, which includes paperwork and sales reports as they relate to store opening and closing Load and unload purchases into customer vehicles Organize warehouse based on incoming and outgoing inventory, communicate all inventory needs and issues to appropriate supervisors, and participate in physical inventory counts Build lasting Customer Relations Fulfill customer orders in an accurate and timely fashion Maintain equipment and facilities in a neat, clean, safe and environmental sound condition Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good working order, participate in the overall maintenance of the facility and equipment other grain handling including but not limited to, filling/reclaiming of ground piles, transferring, etc. Perform critical operations to keep facility running such as loading/unloading trucks and railcars Handle customer escalations Learn product knowledge through various avenues, whether online, at the location, or through traveling. Conduct annual performance evaluations for all direct reporting employees Cooperate with all other Heritage Cooperative locations to promote the most efficient use of personnel and equipment Ensure all branch employees receive required training for assigned tasks Greet customers in a polite, professional and positive manner Implement sound inventory control procedures and report accurate inventory measurements when required Interview, hire, and release and manage all branch personnel Overall supervision of the day-to-day operations of the branch Oversee preventative maintenance on all branch equipment to obtain the maximum efficiency possible and ensure the longevity of all fixed assets Other duties as assigned by your supervisor RETAIL Store Operations & Leadership o Manage and oversee all daily retail store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and operational reporting. o Supervise, coach, and develop retail staff to ensure high performance, accountability, and excellent customer service. o Schedule staff appropriately to support business needs, seasonal demands, and peak customer traffic. o Monitor store performance metrics and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales, profitability, and service goals. o Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Customer Experience & Sales o Ensure customers receive professional, courteous, and knowledgeable assistance at all times. o Provide product recommendations by understanding customer needs and guiding them to appropriate agricultural products and solutions. o Handle complex customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and effective manner. o Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, including farmers, homeowners, and commercial accounts. o Support staff in learning product knowledge through training, demonstrations, and ongoing education. Inventory & Merchandising o Oversee inventory control, including receiving, stocking, organization, and accuracy of records. o Monitor product levels and communicate inventory needs or issues to appropriate supervisors. o Participate in physical inventory counts and ensure proper documentation. o Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, labeled, and aligned with seasonal and promotional strategies. o Coordinate the safe loading and unloading of customer purchases and deliveries. Administrative & Financial Duties o Operate and oversee point-of-sale systems, ensuring accurate processing of cash, checks, and credit transactions. o Ensure proper documentation and application of tax-exempt requirements. o Maintain accurate customer records by documenting sales and updating profiles. o Prepare and review operational paperwork, sales reports, and performance data. o Attend events and meetings as needed o Complete bi-weekly payroll for assigned staff Safety and Compliance o Enforce all safety policies to ensure a safe environment for employees, customers, and vendors. o Conduct regular safety checks and address hazards promptly. o Ensure proper handling and storage of agricultural products and materials.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to frequently stand and/or walk for extended periods of time Ability to frequently sit for extended periods of time Ability to frequently lift and/or carry heavy objects no more than 50 pounds Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed Willingness to work various weather elements including cold, heat, wind, rain, etc. Valid Driver s License, with acceptable driving record Outstanding Organizational and Time-Management Skills Excellent Communication Skills Respectable Mechanical Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor s degree preferred. Previous retail management or supervisory experience of 3-5 years Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Computer proficiency and experience with point-of-sale systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor s Degree or Equivalent Previous Management Experience Previous Supervisory Experience Experience in agricultural retail, farm supply, or related industry. Knowledge of agronomy, feed, seed, or farm equipment products. Experience managing inventory and merchandising in a retail setting
