Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Ridgecrest, CA. This role supports accounting and credit union operations by maintaining accurate general ledger activity, completing daily reconciliations, processing AP/AR transactions, and ensuring financial records meet internal control and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily general ledger posting, cash account balancing, corporate card reconciliations, and monthly share draft reviews.
- Balance ATM networks, research outages, process check adjustments, review check images, and manage exception reports.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, employee travel reimbursements, vendor setup support, W-9/1099 documentation, and tax withholding activity.
- Handle money orders, charge-backs, returned fraud items, and monthly protection program postings.
- Maintain compliance with
BSA, USA PATRIOT
Act, OFAC, SOX-related internal controls, and established accounting procedures.
- Prepare routine weekly and quarterly reports while responding professionally to internal and external inquiries. Compensation and Benefits

Ridgecrest, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills- Maintain accurate general ledger activity, daily postings, reconciliations, and cash balancing.
- Support ATM, check processing, exception reporting, and research related to account outages or adjustments.
- Process AP/AR transactions, employee reimbursements, vendor documentation, and related accounting records.
- Support compliant financial recordkeeping, reporting, and internal control procedures.
- 6 months to 2 years of accounting, finance, or related experience.
- Associate degree in accounting, finance, business, or specialized business coursework.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review, reconcile, and identify discrepancies accurately.
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills in a deadline-driven accounting environment.
- Professional communication skills for routine internal and external inquiries.
- Ability to follow established procedures, maintain confidentiality, and work within regulated financial operations.
- Familiarity with general ledger activity, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or financial reporting processes. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in banking, credit union operations, consumer lending, or another regulated financial services environment.
- Exposure to
