Salary Scale:
$20.17 - $29.13 Based upon experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will process and post all cash payments, insurance payments, and any miscellaneous general ledger payments. All payments will be recorded on the daily posting spreadsheet to reconcile with system reports to ensure accuracy. Research patient accounts utilizing the payment billing system when information provided is not sufficient to process the deposit and to research lost payments. Sorting the incoming mail and distributes accordingly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reconciles EFT bank deposits to EFT's posted to Meditech daily.
Reconciles all credit card and cash payments to Meditech daily.
Posts insurance payments electronically and manually.
Posts personal payments to patient accounts.
Posts non -A/R (MISC GL) checks and receipts.
Applies adjustments and discounts after supervisor approval.
Manually posts all other receipts.
Maintain communication with all internal and external customers.
Sorts and distributes mail in mail room.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED
Prefer one year of office experience.

Operate office equipment such as computers, printers, copy machine, ten-key calculator, facsimile, multi-line phone system, and scanners.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical working conditions include sitting at a desk for extended periods of time while working on a computer or talking on the phone. Greeting patients with billing questions. Vision must be correctable to view computer screens and read printed information. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts and other conversations.
