Londonderry, NH Job Details Full-time $26 - $33 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Fuel card Flexible schedule Qualifications Business financial process improvement Procedural guides Attention to detail Staff training QuickBooks Technical writing Construction experience Full Job Description Job Overview We are hiring an Accounting Specialist to bring order and consistency to day-to-day accounting for a growing property services company. The work covers asphalt repair, paving-related services, and seasonal operations such as snow removal. This is a hands-on role. You will work in QuickBooks to clean up the books, run daily reconciliations, and help build processes the team can actually follow. You will work closely with ownership and operations. The goal is reliable numbers, clear job costing, and simple routines that hold up through busy seasons. Duties Own daily bank, credit card, and account reconciliations in QuickBooks, and clear exceptions the same day when possible. Organize the chart of accounts, vendors, customers, classes, and job or project tracking so reports match how the business actually operates. Enter and review bills, invoices, customer payments, and vendor payments. Keep accounts payable and accounts receivable current. Support job costing for field work, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment, so project profitability is visible. Build and document practical processes for invoicing, expense coding, receipt handling, month-end close, and seasonal closeouts. Reconcile merchant deposits, fuel cards, and other high-volume accounts common in field operations. Prepare basic financial reports and flag items that need a decision from ownership. Help train staff on the new routines so the process does not depend on one person. Support payroll-related accounting entries and period cutoffs as needed. Payroll processing itself may sit with a provider or in-house, depending on current setup. Qualifications Two or more years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, with daily use of QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop. Comfortable reconciling accounts, cleaning up messy books, and explaining what changed. Strong attention to detail and the ability to create simple, repeatable processes. Clear written communication. You will document procedures other people have to use. Reliable with deadlines during seasonal peaks. Preferred Experience in construction, asphalt, paving, snow removal, landscaping, or another blue-collar field service business. Familiarity with job costing, progress billing, retainage, or equipment and material tracking. Experience standing up or cleaning up QuickBooks for a company that was previously owner-run. Working knowledge of sales tax on services, 1099 vendor tracking, and basic payroll journal entries. What success looks like Within the first 90 days, daily reconciliations are current, open items are identified and shrinking, core processes are written down, and management can pull a trustworthy view of cash and job profitability without a special project. How to apply Apply on Indeed with a short note on the QuickBooks version you use most and any field-service or construction accounting experience.
