Accounting & Payroll Specialist We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist to provide accounting support and company-wide oversight of payroll accuracy, billing, and financial controls. This is a hands-on analytical position for someone who is comfortable reviewing detailed financial information, identifying discrepancies, and working with others to resolve issues. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, comfortable working with large data sets, and experienced in an accounting and payroll environment with multiple departments, entities, or reporting groups. Accounting Support Oversee and assist with bank reconciliations across multiple companies and bank accounts. Review reconciliations for accuracy, completeness, and timely completion. Support month-end close activities and account reconciliations. Assist with financial reporting, transaction reviews, and special projects. Research discrepancies and help coordinate corrections. Provide additional accounting and financial support as department needs evolve. Revenue Controls Perform monthly revenue audits to ensure billing is accurate and complete. Review deposits, credits, adjustments, recurring charges, late fees, and related billing activity. Assist with annual and periodic rate or fee increases. Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent charges and coordinate timely corrections. Work with department and corporate team members to improve billing accuracy and accountability. Help develop standardized billing review and audit procedures. Payroll Oversight Review and audit payroll prepared across different payroll entities and reporting groups. Verify hours, overtime, PTO, wage changes, deductions, bonuses, and benefit deductions before payroll submission. Review payroll reports for unusual activity, errors, or inconsistencies. Identify discrepancies and coordinate corrections with the team members responsible for payroll processing. Develop payroll audit procedures and help strengthen payroll controls. Support and guide team members involved in payroll preparation. Help standardize payroll procedures and review practices. Assist with payroll reporting, tax-related items, benefit deductions, and compliance matters. Help ensure payroll deadlines are consistently met. Process Improvement & Internal Controls Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. Help document and standardize accounting, billing, and payroll procedures. Strengthen internal controls across reconciliations, billing, and payroll. Assist with the implementation of new systems, reports, and workflows. Recommend practical improvements that reduce manual work and improve visibility. Follow up on identified issues to ensure they are properly resolved. Qualifications At least three years of experience in accounting, payroll, or financial operations. Experience with bank or account reconciliations required. Payroll review, audit, or oversight experience strongly preferred. Experience in a complex accounting or decentralized payroll environment is a plus. Experience working across multiple companies, payroll entities, departments, or reporting groups preferred. Strong understanding of payroll processes and accounting principles. Advanced Excel skills required, including formulas, filters, pivot tables, lookups, large data sets, and reconciliations. Experience with payroll, HRIS, benefits, or accounting software preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors or inconsistencies. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities. Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
