POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Specialist reports to the Director of Finance. This individual will be primarily responsible for processing invoices, payments and expense reports for the company in ERP system, and updating financial records. The individual will also work on a variety of special projects at the direction of the Director of Finance.
Required Experience:
Pervious working experience as Accounts Payable is a must Data entry skills and strong Microsoft Excel/Word skills Knowledge of SAP ERP System is a plus Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principle.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Daily tasks associated with accounts payable Review, verify, and process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and timely. Match invoices to purchase orders (POs) and receiving documents to resolve discrepancies. Code invoices to the correct general ledger (GL) accounts and cost centers. Reconcile vendor statements regularly and research any outstanding balances or variances. Maintain clear and accurate physical or digital accounts payable records and vendor files. Scan, file, and manage AP invoices Preparing bills, invoices with proper coding Respond to vendor inquiries and internal questions regarding payment status. Participate in the month-end close process including preparation of required journal entries and account reconciliations Ability to analyze information and solve problems Thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail Working on-site full time - NO remote
Preferred Experience :
Basic Accounting, Bookkeeping 2 years (Preferred) 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable (Must) Previous Pharma industry experience (Preferred) Proficiency with ERP accounting software and automated AP routing tools (SAP Preferred). Good Microsoft Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic formulas).
Education:
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is highly preferred.
