Full Job Description Construction Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist Location:
Bernalillo, NM About TriWest Fence TriWest Fence LLC is a growing commercial fence contractor serving New Mexico and Texas, specializing in commercial, industrial, government, utility, and institutional projects. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Construction Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Accounting and Administration team. This position is being filled in advance of a planned retirement at the end of the year, providing an excellent opportunity for hands-on training and knowledge transfer before assuming full responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone with construction industry experience who enjoys staying busy, organized, accurate, and ensures the financial and administrative processes happen timely to keep business running smoothly. Our accounting department supports a high volume of billing and contract administration activities, requiring accuracy, follow-through, and strong communication skills. Position Summary The primary focus of this role is managing the full cycle Accounts Receivable process, including customer invoicing, payment tracking, collections support, and compliance-related billing requirements. The successful candidate will also provide administrative and bookkeeping support across various construction projects and office operations. Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage the full Accounts Receivable cycle from invoice preparation through collection.
  • Prepare and submit customer invoices, including Schedule of Values (SOV) and progress billing applications.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection efforts.
  • Review project documentation to ensure billing requirements are met.
  • Identify and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
  • Assist with job costing and project cost tracking.
  • Perform job reconciliations and related accounting tasks as needed.
  • Enter customers, jobs, and project information into the accounting system.
  • Process contract documents, change orders, subcontracts, and project correspondence.
  • Track compliance requirements including W-9s, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), Lien Waivers, certified payroll reports, and subcontractor documentation to support customer requirements.
  • Support project managers and field operations with administrative needs.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, subcontractors, project managers, field personnel, and management.
  • Answer phones, maintain organized digital and physical project files and office records.
  • Provide administrative support for special projects and other business needs. Qualifications Required
  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, office administration, or construction administration.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Preferred
  • Construction accounting or construction administration experience.
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable management and construction billing.
  • Familiarity with certified payroll, prevailing wage projects, or construction compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Foundation accounting software or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms. Computer Skills
