Job Summary The Accounting Clerk will support our corporate accounting team, with a primary focus on completing due diligence and reporting unclaimed property to the appropriate states. This role requires strong Microsoft Excel skills, as Excel will be used regularly to review and analyze data, perform reconciliations, maintain accurate records, and identify discrepancies. Additional responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of outstanding checks for escheatment.
- Preform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounting records
- Perform required due diligence to connect with property owner prior to escheatment
- Review and respond to customer tickets related to unclaimed property
- Escheat unclaimed property to their respective states per the prescribed schedule
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation for all transactions
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure payment issues are resolved efficiently
- Assist with additional accounting administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including experience working with large data sets, sorting and filtering data, formulas, and performing reconciliations
- 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role preferred
- Applicants familiar with HRS Pro preferred
- Experience handling checks, deposits, or payment processing is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer Service mindset with the ability to respond to customer inquiries professionally
Pay:
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
