Job Description

Job Title:
Bookkeeper Classification:
Part-time 20 hrs/week /

$19.60 - $22.66/hour

Finance and Operations Director Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper supports SAPCC's financial operations by maintaining accurate accounting records, processing routine financial transactions, completing reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting. The position works collaboratively with the Finance & Operations Director and Business Manager & Marketing Coordinator while remaining directly supervised by the Finance & Operations Director.
Essential Functions:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Enter accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate vendor records in QuickBooks Online.
  • Prepare checks and other payments for approval and coordinate required signatures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other assigned accounts and promptly identify discrepancies.
  • Record deposits, payments, and other financial transactions and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and assist with routine account review and cleanup.
  • Maintain bingo financial records and complete required financial reporting.
  • Provide transaction-level accounting support for tuition, Medicaid, grants, and other organizational revenue as needed. Financial & Organizational Support
  • Prepare financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation for routine reporting, audits, budgeting, grant reporting, and other financial reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance & Operations Director and Business Manager & Marketing Coordinator to ensure financial transactions are appropriately documented, recorded, and reconciled.
  • Maintain organized financial records and follow established accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Assist with Business Office projects, data entry, fundraising and organizational events, and other related duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities Participate as an active member of SAPCC staff and collaborate across programs to support effective organizational operations. Provide administrative and financial support for fundraising activities and organizational events as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned based on organizational needs and priorities. Support SAPCC's mission and sustainability by participating in organizational fundraising and community engagement efforts. Other duties as assigned
Role Relationship:
The Finance & Operations Director directly supervises the Bookkeeper and provides overall accounting direction and oversight. The Business Manager & Marketing Coordinator manages day-to-day Business Office workflow and may coordinate information or documentation needed for routine processes but does not supervise the Bookkeeper. The positions work collaboratively within their respective responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education or experience may be considered.
  • At least two years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial office experience preferred; nonprofit experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience with payroll systems, including iSolved, is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • Comfort using multiple data systems and common office technology for financial recordkeeping and communication.
Physical and Schedule Requirements:
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program and community needs. Ability to regularly stand, walk, push, pull, and move throughout program and community settings. Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds as needed for program activities, events, and materials.
