Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our non-profit financial operations and shape our organizational growth. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, risk management, record-keeping, and reporting. This role demands a proactive leader with extensive expertise in corporate finance, accounting standards, regulatory compliance, and strategic management. The ideal candidate will drive financial strategy, ensure fiscal health, and support sustainable development through innovative financial solutions and effective team leadership. Maintain confidentiality. Responsible for all Agency financial operations, utilizing the Agency Fiscal software, including receipt, withdrawal, and disbursement of funds, maintenance of accounting records, and preparation of financial statements and reports. Ensure that all transactions are properly recorded in the appropriate accounts and are properly verifiable by reference to supporting documents that have been filed for easy access. Direct responsibility to ensure that all statutory, regulatory, or other financial requirements are met; that generally accepted principles of accounting are applied; and that financial standards and procedures that meet funding sources' financial standards and grant conditions are applied. Prepare or approve all entries to the general ledger. Establish and approve all accounting systems, procedures, forms, account classifications, etc. Review monthly financial statements and reports to funding sources and the Board of Directors. Prepare or oversee all requests for cash, including a forecast of cash required. Authorize disbursements and payrolls before mailing written checks. Approve and maintain control in the Cost Allocation system. Coordinate the annual Agency audit with the auditing firm and other audits with the auditors from other funding sources. Prepare the Indirect Rate proposal for the Department of Health and Human Services. Serve as the agency IPERS reporting official and plan administrator for the 403 (b) plan. Prepare or oversee the preparation of all reports for all funding sources, Internal Revenue Service, State Unemployment, State Tax, Annuity Fund, employee health insurance, the federal 941 report, and any other required reporting. Keep the Executive Director informed about all financial operations, status, and projected expenses. Assist the Management Staff in budget planning and monitoring. Submit Time and Attendance and travel sheets promptly. Assist the Head Start Director with yearly budget preparation. Meet with the Head Start Director and Executive Director monthly to review and discuss the budget, expenditures, and short- and long-term issues related to the budget. Attend meetings and In-Services as required requested by the Executive Director. Establish quarterly goals. Participate with the Management Team in coordinating all programs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises the Fiscal office staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; motivating to succeed and taking corrective action; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in accounting or related field. Work experience with computerized accounting software; experience in accounting management with a demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of accounting practices and policies. Work experience in government or non-profit accounting is preferred. Employee must be bondable.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the management team, employees, and vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and area. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to design, maintain, and effectively utilize spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting. Possesses strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Access to support documentation, data management, and reporting needs.

$77,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
