The State Investigator will:
Investigate white-collar crimes and public assistance fraud for the New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA); Support investigative efforts within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Investigations Bureau (IB). How does it get done? The State Investigator is responsible for: Determining applicable policies and assessing whether any policies or laws have been violated; Identifying the appropriate criminal or administrative course of action; Providing case management for special inquiries, Medicaid client fraud investigations, and public assistance fraud investigations under the jurisdiction of the HCA Office of Inspector General (OIG). Who are the customers? State of New Mexico Residents. Ideal Candidate State of New Mexico Residents. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Criminology, or other related field, with two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing, and investigation, or insurance adjusting and investigating or investigative report writing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess or obtain Defensive Driving Certificate. Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
