We are looking for an Investigator I to work in the Unemployment Insurance West Texas Telecenter Department. This position is located at 1359 Lomaland Dr Suite 300, El Paso, TX. TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.
WHO YOU ARE
An individual with professional communication skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines. An individual who can provide exemplary customer service while obtaining unemployment insurance benefit information, displays great problem-solving skills, can apply unemployment rules in issuing timely decisions with quality and is able to provide important unemployment program information to our customers so they understand their next steps. To be successful as an investigator, you will have a passion for serving people and be able to work both independently and collaboratively as a part of a supportive team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Investigator I position performs entry-level to routine (journey-level) investigative work. Work involves conducting investigations. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may have limited or no experience and may rely heavily on direction from others to solve problems that are not standard or may occasionally assist other staff in performing work of greater complexity.

Be able to successfully complete the investigator training program Be adaptable Be a problem solver Have great case management and organizational skills Be detail-oriented Have experience with the Unemployment benefits program and system knowledge Be able to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions Display initiative in handling daily assignments and offering help to others Have a proven track record of good judgment and decision making at work Utilize effective investigative skills to gather pertinent information Have experience gathering information and issuing good decisions Be resourceful and utilize provided tools such as CAST, Outlook, Excel, Word effectively for issuing decisions timely and with quality Understand the importance of being at work when scheduled Be open to feedback and have a professional approach to implementing it Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH
Six months of full-time experience performing auditing or investigating work; or unemployment insurance claims examiner tasks; or gathering of information, interviewing, counseling, or in the instruction, demonstration, and interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise. Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position. This position involves lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds of job-related materials. A skills test and/or written exercise will be required at the time of interview. This is a security sensitive position. A criminal background investigation will be conducted on the final candidates for the job. Incomplete applications may not be considered. TWC may use all available information, including past unemployment claims, to evaluate an applicant's suitability for the position. This is a full-time position that will work 40 hours a week. Generally, the position will work from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM local time. However, alternative hours may be available. You may be called upon to work outside of those hours, weekend, and holidays in the event of a disaster, unforeseen event, or special projects
