Travel:
Periodic travel to subsidiary locations required Our mission Enable ambitious global growth while holding the highest bar for trade compliance. As Ignium's senior trade authority, you will architect the systems, policies, and behaviors that keep our cross-border business secure and compliant across our subsidiaries worldwide. Your impact Act as the company's Empowered Official and lead the end-to-end Trade Compliance Program. Administer
ITAR/EAR
licenses, agreements, exemptions, and regulatory submissions. Own jurisdiction and export classification decisions, including
USML/ECCN
determinations. Ensure adherence to U.S. Customs regulations; oversee import/export documentation and customs broker performance. Design and sustain policy frameworks, procedures, and SOPs that scale. Run internal audits, continuous monitoring, and corrective action initiatives. Lead denied party screening, due diligence reviews, and risk assessment processes. Partner with Engineering, Contracts, Supply Chain, Operations, Shipping, and HR so compliance is built-in. Provide organization-wide training and education on trade requirements. Investigate issues and prepare voluntary disclosures as needed. Coach Trade Compliance teams across subsidiaries. Integrate newly acquired businesses into the corporate program. Travel domestically and internationally to subsidiary locations. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree. 10+ years of progressive experience in export controls and international trade compliance.
Extensive knowledge of:
Experience preparing and managing ITAR and EAR license applications. Hands-on use of
DDTC DECCS, BIS
SNAP-R, and CBP ACE. Fluency with Incoterms and international shipping documentation. Outstanding communication, analytical, and leadership skills. Eligibility to serve as an ITAR Empowered Official. Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. Preferred ECoP ITAR and ECoP EAR certifications. Empowered Official experience. Defense or aerospace industry background. Experience with EU Dual-Use Regulations and international export compliance. Experience building enterprise compliance programs and audit frameworks. Work environment Hybrid schedule based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Occasional domestic and international travel required. Extended periods of computer-based work.
