About This Role:
The Compliance Manager leads the day-to-day execution and continuous improvement of Accra's compliance program. This role ensures timely, accurate, and well-documented responses to regulatory obligations; strengthens risk identification and mitigation; leads key compliance initiatives; and develops a high-performing compliance team. The Compliance Manager is a trusted advisor to leaders, translating regulatory requirements and risk insights into practical, scalable actions that protect clients, the organization, and its programs.
What You Will Do:
Regulatory compliance and investigations Own the intake, assignment, tracking, escalation, and completion of regulatory requests, audits, investigations, corrective action plans, and documentation requests. Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory investigations and coordinate responses with government officials, legal counsel, operational leaders, and other stakeholders as needed. Ensure regulatory submissions and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and delivered within required timelines. Direct and oversee incident, grievance, HIPAA, and other compliance investigations; ensure timely resolution, appropriate documentation, and required reporting. Conduct and coordinate periodic internal audits to verify compliance with applicable program requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory standards. Program modernization and risk management Lead implementation, adoption, governance, and ongoing improvement of compliance tools and strategic initiatives. Develop and maintain a formal compliance risk assessment and mitigation process, including risk registers, ownership, action plans, escalation paths, and follow-up monitoring. Design practical workflows, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that improve audit readiness, accountability, visibility, and decision-making. Identify emerging compliance risks, analyze trends, and recommend mitigation options and decision points to executive leadership. Develop, update, and operationalize compliance policies, procedures, training, and monitoring activities in collaboration with business leaders. Leadership and Partnership Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate compliance staff; set clear expectations, performance measures, and accountability for results. Define team roles and improve processes to eliminate unclear ownership, duplicative work, and reliance on manual or email-driven coordination. Provide monthly compliance reporting to executive leadership, including trends, investigations, incidents, risks, corrective actions, and progress against key initiatives. Advise leaders and staff on compliance concerns, misuse of services, suspected fraud, privacy matters, and other regulatory questions with sound judgment and a solutions-oriented approach. Support vendor-management activities and other enterprise initiatives that require compliance input or oversight. Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry guidance relevant to home and community-based healthcare services. Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience required. Healthcare compliance certification, such as CHC, CHPC, CHRC, or comparable credential, preferred. Five or more years of progressive compliance, regulatory, audit, risk management, or operations experience required; leadership experience preferred. Experience implementing or optimizing systems, workflows, dashboards, or project-management processes. Ability to understand and discern between various levels of risk. Intermediate computer proficiency, including the use of internal office and organizational software (such as Microsoft Office), and the ability to quickly learn and gain proficiency with Accra specific systems. Strong creativity, critical thinking, and effective problem solving skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. Salary Description $88,000 - $95,000
