Job Description

Overview The Neighborhood Company is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Director of Compliance to lead our Compliance Department. This full-time leadership position oversees the covenant enforcement process for approximately 45 homeowners associations throughout Central Texas. The Director of Compliance is responsible for ensuring that each community's governing documents are administered consistently, fairly, and professionally while providing exceptional service to homeowners, volunteer Boards of Directors, and Community Managers. This position requires a strong leader who can manage multiple priorities, develop department processes, mentor staff, and ensure compliance matters are handled accurately and efficiently. Primary Responsibilities Department Leadership Lead and manage the Compliance Department. Supervise Compliance Coordinators and Compliance Inspectors. Establish department goals, workflows, and performance expectations. Train, mentor, and develop department staff. Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of inspections and homeowner correspondence. Develop and improve departmental procedures and best practices. Monitor departmental performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Covenant Enforcement Oversee covenant enforcement for approximately 45 managed communities. Ensure enforcement is conducted consistently and in accordance with each Association's governing documents, adopted enforcement policies, and applicable Texas law. Review compliance reports and homeowner correspondence for accuracy and consistency. Monitor aging violations and ensure timely follow-up. Assist Community Managers with complex or sensitive compliance matters. Coordinate compliance hearings and Board discussions regarding enforcement matters. Work closely with legal counsel on enforcement matters when necessary. Board & Community Support Serve as the primary compliance resource for Community Managers and Boards of Directors. Attend Board meetings when compliance matters require departmental representation. Assist Boards with the implementation and administration of enforcement policies. Provide recommendations regarding compliance trends, enforcement procedures, and policy improvements. Customer Service Respond professionally to homeowner inquiries regarding: Deed restriction violations Governing document interpretation Compliance procedures Work to resolve homeowner concerns while maintaining consistency, fairness, and professionalism. Support Community Managers in resolving compliance-related owner concerns. Technology & Reporting Utilize CINC Systems to manage compliance activities. Review departmental reports and performance metrics. Track violation aging and department response times. Maintain complete and accurate electronic records. Prepare reports for Community Managers and Boards as requested. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of HOA management, compliance, property management, or related leadership experience Previous supervisory or management experience required Strong knowledge of homeowners association operations Familiarity with Texas Property Code Chapter 209 preferred Experience interpreting governing documents and enforcement policies Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple communities and competing deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience using CINC Systems or similar HOA/property management software preferred Desired Skills Strong leadership and team-building abilities Exceptional customer service skills Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities Sound judgment and professionalism High attention to detail Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Positive, solution-oriented attitude What You'll Be Responsible For Leading one of the company's most visible client service departments. Ensuring compliance programs are administered consistently across all managed communities. Coaching and developing a high-performing compliance team. Improving department efficiency, customer service, and communication. Supporting Community Managers through complex compliance matters. Protecting the integrity of each Association's governing documents through fair, consistent, and professional enforcement. $60,000.00 per year
