Job Description

Director of DOT Compliance & Safety Pleasant Prairie, WI | Full-Time Lead DOT Compliance & Safety for a Growing Transportation Organization We are seeking an experienced Director of DOT Compliance & Safety to lead our company-wide DOT compliance and safety support functions. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a transportation professional with a strong understanding of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations, driver qualification requirements, hours-of-service compliance, drug and alcohol testing, IFTA, permitting, and licensing. The Director will serve as the organization's primary DOT subject matter expert, lead the Compliance support team, and work closely with operations and senior management to ensure our transportation companies remain compliant throughout the United States and Canada. If you have extensive trucking-industry compliance experience and are ready to take ownership of a company-wide DOT program, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee the company's DOT Compliance and Safety support staff
  • Serve as the organization's primary resource for DOT and regulatory compliance
  • Partner with management and operations teams to identify compliance needs and provide guidance
  • Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files and required compliance reporting for multiple operating companies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable DOT regulations covering commercial drivers
  • Oversee DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements and programs
  • Conduct and oversee DOT log and Hours-of-Service audits
  • Manage permits, vehicle licensing, and IFTA requirements for U.S. and Canadian operations
  • Prepare statistical reports, compliance analyses, and supporting documentation for company leadership
  • Prepare and provide reports or documentation to regulatory and government agencies when required
  • Develop and maintain accurate compliance records and reporting systems
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Compliance team members
  • Conduct timely and constructive employee performance evaluations
  • Stay current on changing DOT regulations and communicate requirements throughout the organization
  • Perform additional compliance and safety responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is an experienced transportation compliance professional who can combine strong technical DOT knowledge with leadership, organization, and communication skills. Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the trucking or transportation industry
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of
DOT/FMCSA
regulations
  • Experience with Driver Qualification files and compliance recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of Hours-of-Service and DOT log auditing
  • Knowledge of DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
  • Experience with transportation permitting, licensing, and IFTA
  • Strong leadership and team-management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
