Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Disaster Case Manager for a contract opportunity in Noblesville, IN. This role supports individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations impacted by disasters by helping them navigate documentation, eligibility, reimbursement, and recovery processes. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people while managing detailed case files, project records, and compliance documentation. You will be part of a mission-driven disaster recovery team that values clear communication, teamwork, professionalism, and timely support for people facing difficult circumstances. The ideal candidate is organized, empathetic, and comfortable working with applicants, documentation, deadlines, and project tracking systems. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping disaster-impacted applicants move through the recovery process with clarity and confidence. Key Responsibilities
  • Review applicant information and supporting documentation to assist with disaster relief and recovery eligibility determinations.
  • Communicate with applicants to gather missing or incomplete documentation related to damages, costs, ownership, insurance, financial records, and recovery activities.
  • Organize, upload, enter, and track applicant and project information in grant, recovery, and project management systems.
  • Review and maintain invoices, contracts, payroll records, procurement documentation, proof of payment, photographs, and other supporting records.
  • Track requests for information, project milestones, deadlines, eligibility issues, case notes, and outstanding documentation.
  • Support grant administration, reimbursement documentation, project development, closeout activities, and other disaster recovery needs. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay:
    $27 to $28 per hour.
  • Job type: Contract/Temporary.
  • Location:
    Noblesville, IN.
  • Work arrangement: Onsite as needed with applicants and members of the disaster recovery team. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Manage assigned disaster recovery applicant files and project documentation from intake through follow-up and tracking.
  • Review eligibility, damage, cost, financial, insurance, and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with applicants, project leadership, government representatives, and recovery team members.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, trackers, status reports, reimbursement records, and project files.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience in disaster recovery, emergency management, grants, government programs, construction administration, finance, case management, customer service, or a similar field.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams skills.
  • Ability to review detailed documentation such as invoices, contracts, payroll records, procurement documents, financial records, or insurance information.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple applicants, projects, deadlines, and follow-up items simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and make accurate documentation-based determinations.
  • Professional, empathetic communication style when working with people experiencing challenging circumstances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate complex documentation, eligibility, or compliance concerns when needed. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with disaster relief programs, disaster recovery programs, government assistance, grants, or reimbursement processes.
  • Experience supporting applicants, clients, or community members through complex documentation or assistance programs.
  • Background in grants administration, government administration, construction administration, finance, insurance, case management, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with project tracking, reimbursement documentation, compliance records, or closeout activities.
