Job Description

At Fello, we champion the rights of people with disabilities and invest in what matters most: real opportunities, strong relationships, and inclusive, equitable communities. We partner with people with disabilities to provide support services, develop inclusive housing, and create spaces where people feel genuinely connected—not just accommodated. The Compliance Facilitator supports Fello's compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements, ensuring efforts across the organization protect the rights, safety, and self-determination of people served. Responsibilities include managing the incident reporting system and hotline, conducting and submitting required incident investigations and reports, and serving as liaison to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) for visits, requests, and plans of correction. The role also maintains compliance monitoring and tracking processes and partners with programs and People & Culture to keep policies aligned with current regulations. This position must meet all requirements of a Direct Support Professional and is designated essential, requiring work during times of emergency. The ideal candidate brings three or more years of experience supporting or managing compliance, quality, or performance improvement activities for a human services organization, five years' experience as a direct support professional, and experience conducting incident or other compliance investigations. They demonstrate strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, with sound judgment in sensitive situations and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams while remaining flexible under pressure. A bachelor's degree in human services or a related field and experience working with people with disabilities are preferred. This position is full-time, based in Severn with regular time in the field at group homes across the Greater Chesapeake region. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during Fello's office hours, with frequent night and occasional weekend needs to cover the incident hotline. This position is eligible for periodic telework. This position includes an award-winning total rewards (benefits) package and opportunities for professional development within our mission-driven organization. Fello is an equal opportunity employer which means we provide equal opportunity to all qualified candidates without regard to race, color, religion, ancestry, sex, gender, gender expression, national origin, age, marital status, military/veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, genetic information, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. To provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all candidates, employment decisions at Fello will be based on merit, qualifications, and skills. Fello highly encourages all employees to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.
