  • Default Support Specialist About the
Opportunity:
We are seeking a Default Support Specialist to provide operational and administrative support across our Default Servicing functions. This role will support areas including delinquency management, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and claims. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a regulated environment. The Default Support Specialist will review loan activity, maintain accurate servicing records, monitor critical timelines, process documentation, coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors, and research and resolve servicing exceptions. This is an onsite position in Ocala, Florida , with a regular Monday-Friday schedule.
What You'll Do:
Review loan activity, servicing records, documentation, and account information for accuracy and completeness. Monitor loan-level tasks, milestones, deadlines, and workflow queues. Track regulatory, investor, agency, vendor, and internal deadlines and escalate potential delays. Support default servicing activities across delinquency, loss mitigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and claims. Research discrepancies, missing information, servicing exceptions, and account-level issues. Follow assigned tasks and issues through resolution to ensure nothing remains outstanding. Coordinate with internal departments, attorneys, vendors, investors, insurers, and other business partners. Maintain accurate documentation and servicing system notes. Identify documentation deficiencies, process gaps, and potential operational risks. Review work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures. Assist with quality control, audits, compliance reviews, and process improvement initiatives. Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve workflows and reduce unnecessary manual processes. Utilize servicing systems, workflow tools, document management systems, reporting tools, and other technology to manage responsibilities efficiently. Adjust priorities as workloads, portfolio conditions, requirements, and business needs change. Handle sensitive borrower and company information with professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage a high-volume workload with multiple deadlines and competing priorities. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to research issues, identify discrepancies, and follow through to resolution. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Ability to work onsite in Ocala, FL, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.
Preferred:
2+ years of mortgage servicing, financial services, default servicing, or related experience. Experience with one or more areas of Default Servicing, such as: Collections Loss Mitigation Foreclosure Bankruptcy Claims REO Default administration Knowledge of mortgage servicing processes, loan documentation, payment histories, servicing notes, and account research. Experience working with attorneys, vendors, investors, mortgage insurers, or other third-party service providers. Familiarity with FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or investor servicing requirements. Experience in a regulated environment requiring accurate documentation and timely processing. Experience supporting quality control, audits, compliance reviews, or process improvement. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Experience with MSP or FICS Mortgage Servicer is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an onsite office position requiring regular use of computers and standard office equipment. The position involves extended periods of sitting and working at a computer, communicating by phone and in person, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds.
Compensation & Schedule:
Pay Range:
$17.00-$22.50 per hour.
DOE Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00
