This position has responsibility in both loan counseling and member services. As a Loan Officer , you will provide financial counseling to individuals in debt, and/or experiencing unfavorable credit ratings. As a Membership Service Representative , you will present and explain credit union products and services to members and assist them to utilize these products and services.

•$55,000+ per year based on experience

Ket Responsibilities:

Confers with members to ascertain available monthly income after living expenses to meet credit obligations plus other legal, regulatory, or statutory financial obligations, if any Calculates amount of debt and funds available to plan method of payoff and estimate time for debt liquidation Contacts creditors to explain member's financial situation and to arrange payment adjustments so that payments are feasible for member and agreeable to creditors Establishes payment priorities to reduce member's overall costs by liquidating high interest, short-term loans or contracts first Opens accounts for members and disburses funds from account to creditors as agent for member. Keeps records of account activity Counsels members on personal and family financial problems such as excessive spending and borrowing of funds Assists members to understand simple budgeting techniques and encourages member to undertake a budget program to ensure successful completion of the credit counseling process Works with completed loan application prepared by Loan Clerk or personally interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application. Information may be recorded in writing or by computer where automated loan processing technology is available to the Loan Officer Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan and approves or submits application to Loan Committee for verification and recommendation Corresponds with or interviews applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information Analyzes potential lending opportunities involved in each lending situation to further assist the borrower as well as increase the credit union's lending portfolio Cross sells borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services Processes a variety of financial transactions for members including the opening and closing of accounts, issuing checks, processing deposits and withdrawals from accounts, issuing certificates, drafts, IRA's, HSA's, gift cards, and other negotiable instruments Responds to member inquiry regarding the operation of accounts, access to services, resolving account discrepancies, balancing and reconciling, adding or reducing service features on various accounts, and assisting members to make the most effective usage of service offerings Performs such other member service functions that might be needed from time to time, and assists others to complete tasks and work assignments

Minimum Requirements:

Must fully understand credit union products and services and be able to assist members to use these products and services 2

•3 years of related experience, primarily derived from prior experience as a credit union Loan Officer and/or Collection Officer Certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience Current NMLS licensing preferred, or ability to obtain and maintain an NMLS License and a Limited Lines Insurance License in the State of Ohio Personal computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheet, and special budgeting software (i.e. Quicken) Complete familiarity with the

ACT, and Federal, State, and Local regulation relating to debt collection and credit counselors Ability to read and interpret documents such as Loan Agreements, debt obligation documents, and a variety of instructions furnished in written form Cooperative and positive attitude toward members and credit union staff. Professional appearance and demeanor Must be able to pass a background check, credit check, and drug screen
