Job Description

Apply Director of Accounting Pittsboro, NC Apply Description Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community offering top-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment. We are looking for a Director of Accounting w ith a passion and interest in non-profit accounting to join our team. This position oversees daily financial operations, leads the accounting team, manages budgets/forecasting, ensures compliance (GAAP/IFRS), prepares financial statements, coordinates audits, and develops internal controls, acting as a key link between accounting tasks and executive financial strategy to maintain accuracy and support business goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Financial Operations :
Directs workflow of the department. Manage daily operations and serve as backup to AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, cash flow, and month/year-end closes.
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts, presenting findings to leadership. Lead monthly variance reviews with department managers.
Compliance & Controls:
Enforce accounting policies (GAAP/IFRS), implement internal controls, and ensure regulatory adherence.
Team Leadership:
Supervise, mentor, train, and delegate tasks to accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and goal achievement.
Audits & Strategy:
Coordinate annual audits, liaise with external auditors, and provide financial data to support strategic decisions. All other duties assigned include, but are not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. 3-5 years of experience.
Preferred:
2+ years of supervisory experience. In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices. Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills. Strong written and oral communication. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrates a self-starter mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks, anticipate needs, and work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
