Senior Financial Analyst New Haven, Connecticut, United States Apply for this job Senior Financial Analyst We are working with an established and growing organization seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This is a highly visible role offering a mix of FP&A, financial reporting, data analytics, accounting support, and process improvement . The ideal candidate will have strong financial analysis experience along with enough accounting knowledge to comfortably support month-end close and partner closely with the accounting organization. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys analyzing the business but also wants exposure to systems, automation, and operational improvement. The position reports to an experienced FP&A leader and will have significant individual ownership while partnering with finance, accounting, operations, and business leadership. Responsibilities Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. Analyze monthly financial results and identify key variances to budget, forecast, and prior-year results. Prepare financial reporting packages and provide commentary around business performance, risks, trends, and opportunities. Develop financial models and perform ad hoc analysis supporting business initiatives, pricing, investments, and cost optimization. Partner with business leaders to provide financial insight and support data-driven decision-making. Prepare executive-level PowerPoint presentations and financial communications for senior leadership. Work with large datasets to identify trends and provide meaningful business insights. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Assist with balance sheet reviews and other accounting-related activities. Partner closely with accounting to resolve reporting issues and improve financial processes. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual finance and accounting processes. Participate in financial systems, reporting, business intelligence, and automation initiatives. Support acquisition and integration-related analysis and reporting as needed. Assist with internal and external audit requests. Participate in special projects and other financial analysis as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, corporate finance, accounting, or a combination of these areas. Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis . Working knowledge of accounting principles and month-end close processes. Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, complex formulas, lookups, and data analysis. Experience working with ERP, financial planning, reporting, or business intelligence systems. Strong PowerPoint skills with the ability to develop executive-level presentations. Ability to retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple systems. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects and deliverables. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience Experience within a large or complex corporate environment. Exposure to manufacturing or other operationally focused businesses. Experience with process automation, RPA, business intelligence, or financial systems optimization. Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations. CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward an advanced degree is a plus. Apply for this job
