Position Summary Athens Land Trust seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to support the organization's day-to-day financial operations and grant financial administration. The Finance Coordinator helps ensure that financial transactions are timely and accurate, documentation is complete, grant funds and reimbursements are effectively tracked, and staff have the financial information needed to manage their work. The position works closely with the Executive Director, program staff, Treasurer and Finance Committee, and ALT's external accounting and financial partners Primary Responsibilities Financial Operations Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, purchasing, and employee expense processes. Maintain accurate and complete financial records and supporting documentation. Support payroll, credit card, vendor, and other routine financial processes. Help maintain effective financial systems, workflows, and internal controls. Grant Financial Administration Maintain financial information and documentation for ALT's grants and contracts. Track grant budgets, expenditures, reimbursements, receivables, balances, and financial reporting deadlines. Prepare and coordinate grant reimbursement requests and drawdowns in partnership with program staff. Help ensure grant expenditures are properly documented and financially compliant. Accounting & Reporting Support Support monthly financial close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Coordinate with external accounting professionals and provide information needed for accurate and timely financial statements. Assist with organizational budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Support preparation for audits and other financial reviews. Program & Organizational Support Provide program leaders with timely financial information about their grants, budgets, and expenditures. Help identify financial issues, missing documentation, reimbursement delays, or other concerns requiring attention. Support continuous improvement of ALT's financial policies, processes, technology, and systems. Perform other finance and administrative responsibilities consistent with the needs of the organization. Qualifications Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, grants administration, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and financial workflows. Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with nonprofit organizations, government grants, or federally funded programs preferred. Ability to work collaboratively across programs and with external financial professionals.
