Job Description

Job Summary Supervises designated processes and team members within the Cash and Revenue Audit Department. Supports Department Management in the maintenance, development and enhancement of audit and reconciliation methods and all associated reporting. Acts as a primary point of contact for internal and external data requests and questions, and as a key contributor in the development and implementation of organizational controls. Job Description

CORE SCOPE OF POSITION

Recommends and implements process improvements to ensure the efficiency of the Cash and Revenue Audit team and related departments. Proactively provides answers to questions and information to team members that they need to perform their job. Prioritizes tasks and works efficiently to ensure all work is performed and completed on time. Leads and drives organizational change initiatives by effectively preparing and supporting the team through the process. Provides positive reinforcement and recognition. Supports management decisions, maintains confidentiality, and remains positive during times of difficulty and change. Builds constructive and effective relationships with other managers across the organization. Manages conflict effectively; listens and assesses situations; takes action to resolve. Makes good decisions in a timely manner, considering relevant information and utilizing available resources. Attends and supports all guest service training courses; ensures that training principles are followed in the department. Assists with training of team members on the expectations and responsibilities of their positions. Promotes cross-training between team members to strengthen the department. Works with department management to quickly and effectively deal with inappropriate behavior or individual issues affecting the team which may include writing and delivering formal corrective action. Ensures all team members attend all trainings and meetings. Ensures team members have a safe working environment and proactively addresses any unsafe conditions. Administrative Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of policies and procedures that enable the Cash and Revenue Audit team to maintain effective internal controls. Develops a thorough understanding of all gaming revenue and non-gaming revenue casino operations to ensure compliance with all applicable Policies and Procedures (P&Ps) and Viejas Casino Minimum Internal Control Standards (VCMICS). Ensures that all audits assigned to the team are performed timely, within all given deadlines, and all variances are researched. Works with Operations, the Audit team and Finance to optimize the flow of data from the floor to the General Ledger, ensuring that revenue is booked timely and accurately and that all processes are performed quickly, correctly, and efficiently. Obtains knowledge and keeps current on necessary aspects of Title 31 compliance. Obtains knowledge of guest taxes, including tax payment and B-Notice processes; IRS Forms 1042S, 945, W-2G, 1099 MISC; and withholding filing. Makes sure that all tax documentation is thoroughly audited, and all necessary payments are made timely. Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential. Acts as primary point of contact for internal and external department data requests and questions and as a key contributor in the development and implementation of organizational controls. Communicates in written form utilizing proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation to present a clear and professional message in all communications. Offers suggestions and solutions to issues; recommends changes to departmental policies and procedures to improve efficiency and performance; makes good decisions, and exhibits sound judgment. Assists in the identification of and execution of ad-hoc projects or similar compatible duties directed at improving departmental productivity, efficiency, and utility. Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. SUPERVISION

Provides immediate supervision to the cash and revenue auditors by assigning tasks and reviewing at frequent intervals.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, economics, or finance preferred.

EXPERIENCE

5 or more years of related experience in related functions that include auditing, accounting, and variance analysis. 2 years of supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, organizational, planning, leadership, and team skills. Demonstrate strong motivational commitment to the organization. Ability to build and motivate high performance teams. Ability to proactively champion and deal with change. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle projects with multiple deadlines. Ability to multitask and work well under stress. Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change. Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.
