Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our finance team and oversee aspects of accounting operations. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards and maintaining the integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, experience with regulatory requirements, and a passion for mentoring team members. Duties Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure accuracy and timeliness of reports. Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes. Lead compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), securities law, and other regulatory standards to safeguard organizational assets. Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring proper processing and timely payments. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and bank reconciliations to maintain precise financial records. Mentor and develop accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting issues such as
GAAP, IFRS
(International Financial Reporting Standards), and complex financial concepts. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, coordinating audit activities, and implementing audit recommendations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling regulatory reporting requirements efficiently. Skills Extensive experience in corporate accounting, including public accounting background preferred. Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, GAAP standards, SEC reporting, and regulatory frameworks. Proficiency with financial software such as Sage, Xero, or similar systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite especially spreadsheets for data analysis. Expertise in technical accounting areas including Wills, trusts & estate law; governmental accounting; non-profit accounting; securities law; international accounting; and private equity considerations. Demonstrated ability to mentor team members effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial report writing, interpretation, and presentation of complex data insights. Proven capability in account reconciliation, journal entries, accrual accounting, budget management, and cash flow forecasting. Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliation processes, and general ledger reconciliation practices. Knowledge of compliance procedures related to financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, regulatory reporting standards, and internal controls. Pay:
$31.25 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
