This is not an entry-level management position and it is not a traditional F&I-only role. We are looking for an experienced automotive operator who understands how sales, credit, lenders, inventory, gross, lead management, and people all work together. You'll have significant authority over the daily sales operation and work directly with ownership to improve volume, profitability, closing percentages, lender performance, and inventory strategy. If you know how to lead a sales floor, desk a deal, read credit, select the right lender, build an approval, and coach salespeople , we want to talk to you. What You'll Own Deal Desking & Structuring You will review and help structure every serious deal based on the complete transaction, including: Credit profile and bureau history Credit score Verified income PTI and DTI Cash down Trade equity or negative equity Vehicle year and mileage Book value and LTV Lender advance Term and payment Front-end gross Backend opportunities Lender fees and program requirements Your job isn't simply to determine whether a deal works. Your job is to determine how to make a responsible deal work. Finance & Lender Strategy You will control lender placement and help build approvals—not simply submit applications and wait for callbacks.
Responsibilities include:
Review and analyze credit applications Pull and interpret credit Determine which lenders should receive each deal Submit applications through Dealertrack and lender portals Structure deals around lender programs Analyze lender callbacks Negotiate approvals and exceptions Understand advance, LTV, PTI, DTI, term and backend limitations Manage stipulations Protect lender relationships Avoid unnecessary shotgun submissions Restructure declined or difficult transactions Match customers with vehicles that improve approval probability Monitor deals through funding Help minimize funding delays, chargebacks, and avoidable buybacks Prime, near-prime, subprime and special-finance knowledge is highly valuable for this position. Lead the Sales Team This is a hands-on leadership position.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the daily sales floor Coaching and developing salespeople Setting daily priorities Reviewing active opportunities TO'ing customers and deals Helping overcome objections Improving salesperson closing ability Holding the team accountable to the sales process Monitoring individual performance Identifying coaching opportunities Creating urgency around unsold opportunities Ensuring management involvement occurs when it can save a deal We want a manager who gets involved. You aren't managing from an office—you are helping your team win deals. Own the Lead Flow You will also oversee how opportunities move through our CRM.
Responsibilities include:
Assign incoming leads Monitor lead response times Review salesperson pipelines Ensure proper calls, texts, emails, and follow-up Identify neglected opportunities Reassign opportunities when necessary Monitor appointments and credit applications Data mine aged and unsold leads Reactivate previous opportunities Identify customers who may now have a path to approval Hold salespeople accountable for CRM activity and follow-up Thousands of dollars in opportunity can sit inside a dealership's CRM. We expect our manager to know how to find it. Help Build the Right Inventory One of the most important responsibilities of this position is using information from the desk to help influence what we buy. You will work directly with ownership and acquisition to analyze: What customers are requesting Which vehicles generate the most opportunities Which price points convert Which vehicles our lenders finance well Vehicle age and mileage restrictions Book values and lender advances Approval patterns Required down payments Inventory turn Inventory aging Front-end gross Deals lost because we didn't have the right vehicle We don't want to buy inventory based solely on what looks attractive at auction. We want an inventory mix built around customer demand, lender appetite, turn, and profitability. What Success Looks Like This is a numbers-driven leadership position. You'll help drive: Retail units sold Lead response Appointment set rate Appointment show rate Show-to-sale closing percentage Overall closing percentage Credit application conversion Approval percentage Approval-to-sale conversion Aged-lead reactivation Front-end gross Back-end gross Finance penetration Funding speed Lender performance Inventory turn Salesperson productivity We don't just want someone who knows the numbers.
