About the Position We are a well-established, family-owned business with multiple corporations & agricultural operations, including dairy, farming & feed lot operations. We are looking for an experienced Controller / Accounting Manager to oversee our accounting & financial records and work closely with the owners, office manager & management, This is a hands-on position . We are looking for someone who can take ownership of keeping our accounting accurate, organized, and current while also performing day-to-day accounting responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple companies.
• Maintain accurate & current records in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise .
• Monitor & reconcile bank & credit card accounts.
• Ensure deposits, ACH transactions & transfers are made and entered accurately and timely.
• Oversee accounts payable & accounts receivable.
• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Assist with or may process some payroll.
• May be responsible for paying certain bills
• Monitor financial activity & identify unusual or incorrect transactions.
• Maintain & reconcile cattle purchases and sales using Excell and ensuring cost of cattle sold is properly recorded in QuickBooks.
• Track & reconcile commodities sold
• Provide support and backup to our existing office manager and staff.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as needed.
• Prepare year end information for our outside CPA & work with him on yearend accounting information he may need.

The Controller will be responsible for keeping the accounting records & year end information organized and ready for the

CPA QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong accounting experience & excellent understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and financial statements.
• Strong Excel Skills.
• Excellent organizational & attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

PREFERRED

• Previous Controller, Accounting Manager experience.
• Experience with multiple companies.
• Agricultural, livestock or agribusiness accounting experience.
• Experience with cattle or commodity accounting.
• Payroll experience.
• CPA The Person We Are Looking For We want someone who is experienced, dependable, organized, & willing to be hands-on .

You should be familiar & comfortable with QuickBooks, reconciling accounts, working with Excell, researching discrepancies, and making sure things get done correctly and on time.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary:

$100,000-$130,000 per year, depending on experience & qualifactions. Benefits and any other compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
