This role will focus on strengthening accounting operations, improving inventory visibility, and ensuring financial practices align with established compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting knowledge and can evaluate current workflows while introducing practical, well-controlled reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
Review existing accounting procedures and identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control across financial operations. Evaluate the acquired company's financial practices and recommend adjustments to align reporting with organizational accounting standards. Lead the development of inventory tracking methods and create reporting that provides clear insight into valuation, movement, and balances. Oversee month-end close activities to ensure timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables. Manage general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of account balances through detailed review and analysis. Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and investigating underlying issues. Direct inventory reconciliations and analysis to confirm accuracy between physical records, subledgers, and financial statements. Guide the conversion of accounting practices from a cash-based approach to a framework that complies with GAAP requirements. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in complex accounting environments. Strong expertise in month-end close, general ledger management, and account reconciliation. Hands-on experience with inventory reconciliation, inventory analysis, and related financial reporting. Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and their application in operational settings. Demonstrated ability to assess accounting processes and implement improvements that strengthen internal controls. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate variances and recommend corrective actions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a contract environment. The salary range for this position is $38/hour to $43/hour.
