full-time We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys being in the details, can independently drive the close, and has the leadership skills to improve processes and support the broader finance organization. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, maintaining strong accounting controls, and partnering cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in an ERP environment and have experience with systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. @ michael.abate@roberthalf.com Key Responsibilities Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion. Prepare and/or review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities. Analyze financial results and investigate variances, unusual transactions, and discrepancies. Ensure the general ledger is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting principles and company policies. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. Develop and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes and improve the efficiency of the close. Manage accounting-related activities within the company's ERP system, including reporting, reconciliations, and system processes. Partner with FP&A, Finance, Operations, and other departments to ensure accurate financial information and resolve accounting issues. Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages. Assist with the annual audit and provide schedules, documentation, and explanations to external auditors. Monitor compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day accounting work. Support special projects, system implementations, process improvements, and other finance initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience managing or owning a financial close process. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting. Hands-on experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Demonstrated ability to manage a close calendar and consistently meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to identify issues, determine root causes, and independently drive them to resolution. Strong Excel skills and experience working with large sets of financial data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments. Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting professionals. Ability to balance strategic process improvement with hands-on execution. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a growing or changing organization. Experience implementing or optimizing an ERP system. Experience improving or automating the month-end close process. Public accounting or audit experience
