Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and lead a high-performing accounting team in Hampton, New Hampshire. This role reports to the Vice President of Finance and plays a central part in maintaining accurate records, delivering meaningful financial reporting, and supporting sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a solid command of accounting processes, and the ability to improve efficiency across budgeting, reporting, and day-to-day financial management.
Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and lead a high-performing accounting team in Hampton, New Hampshire. This role reports to the Vice President of Finance and plays a central part in maintaining accurate records, delivering meaningful financial reporting, and supporting sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a solid command of accounting processes, and the ability to improve efficiency across budgeting, reporting, and day-to-day financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close activities, including oversight of the general ledger, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting across a portfolio of related entities.
- Prepare and review financial reports that highlight operating results, cash positions, cost performance, and profit or loss trends for leadership review.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting records by monitoring transactions, validating balances, and maintaining accurate financial and operational documentation.
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting activities by consolidating financial inputs, updating planning data in systems, and explaining notable variances.
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate financial performance, identify opportunities to use resources more effectively, and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide analysis of historical and current financial information to support planning, decision-making, and performance discussions with management.
- Supervise and develop a team of four accounting professionals, setting priorities, reviewing work, and supporting ongoing growth and accountability.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance reporting quality, operational efficiency, and overall financial oversight.
