Job Description

WAESR is seeking an Integration & Acquisitions Manager to lead the accounting, financial reporting, and systems integration efforts associated with newly acquired businesses for a Birmingham based client. Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, this role will serve as the bridge between Accounting, Finance, IT, Operations, and acquired company personnel to ensure a seamless transition of financial data, reporting, and processes into the Company's operating environment. This position is ideal for a highly analytical accounting or finance professional who enjoys project-based work, acquisitions, systems integration, and process improvement. The successful candidate will act as both a project manager and financial integration leader, helping the organization quickly convert newly acquired entities into standardized reporting and accounting structures while ensuring the integrity of financial information and compliance with Company policies and reporting requirements. This client continues to grow through acquisitions and has a significant history of integrating acquired assets and businesses into its platform. This role will play a critical part in the success of those strategic initiatives. The company's accounting organization utilizes tools such as SQL, Power BI, and advanced analytics to support a scalable and data-driven finance function. Key Responsibilities Acquisition Integration Leadership Lead post-acquisition financial integration activities from transaction close through full system conversion. Develop and manage new integrations project plans, timelines, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communication. Coordinate across Accounting, IT, Operations, FP&A, Internal Reporting, and external acquisition teams. Serve as the primary finance lead during acquisition integrations. Financial Systems & Data Integration Assess accounting systems, ERP platforms, subledgers, and supporting applications utilized by acquired businesses. Extract, cleanse, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from acquired company systems. Develop and maintain detailed data mapping between acquired company chart of accounts and the Company's general ledger structure. Ensure accurate migration of historical and current period financial information into the Company's reporting environment. Partner with IT and business teams to support system conversions and reporting implementation. Accounting & Reporting Establish reporting packages for newly acquired companies. Design and implement standardized reporting processes to provide visibility into acquisition performance. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting requirements during integration periods. Prepare reconciliations and analyses to validate conversion accuracy and financial statement integrity. Assist in establishing internal controls and accounting procedures consistent with SOX and public company requirements. Process Improvement & Transformation Identify opportunities to automate data conversion, reporting, and integration processes. Leverage tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, and other technologies to improve efficiency and visibility. Develop scalable integration playbooks and best practices for future acquisitions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting and reporting functions. Cross Functional Partnership Work closely with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, Internal Reporting, Operations, and IT teams. Build strong relationships with leadership and acquired company personnel. Support acquisition due diligence and pre-close planning activities as needed. The company's leadership team places significant emphasis on M&A and integration activities within the accounting organization. Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Information Systems, or related field. Active CPA license (required). Public company accounting experience (required); public accounting or Big 4 background strongly preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, financial systems, ERP implementation, audit, transaction advisory, or acquisition integration. Strong understanding of general ledger structures, financial reporting, and accounting processes. Experience working with large datasets and complex financial information. Advanced Excel skills. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
Public accounting or transaction advisory experience. ERP implementation or systems conversion experience. Experience with acquisitions, carve-outs, mergers, or post-acquisition integrations. Experience with SQL, Power BI, Hyperion, or similar reporting platforms. Oil & gas, energy, or asset-intensive industry experience. Warren Averett is an equal opportunity employer. Pay:
$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
