Job Description

Description Jeff Abrams with Robert Half is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to lead fund reporting activities and support the broader finance function for his client. This role is responsible for overseeing financial statement preparation and review, coordinating audit and tax workflows, and helping ensure accurate reporting across complex fund structures. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting judgment, private equity or fund experience, and the ability to improve processes while guiding team members in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee fund reporting activities by maintaining a strong command of reporting workflows and the underlying general ledger framework.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements for funds to confirm accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable U.S. accounting standards.
  • Partner with finance leadership to manage external audits and tax-related deliverables, including coordination with third-party providers and analysis of technical accounting or tax issues.
  • Track fund liquidity and prepare cash forecasts to support operational and investment-related funding needs.
  • Examine investor capital call and distribution activity, as well as transaction flows tied to underlying portfolio investments.
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related reporting needs as required by the business.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, streamline reporting processes, and improve efficiency without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Address limited partner questions and produce ad hoc reports with a high level of responsiveness and precision.
  • Advise on complex, unusual, or non-standard transactions and help determine the appropriate reporting treatment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year institution.
  • At least 5 years of audit or tax experience gained in public accounting, private equity, venture capital, or a comparable investment environment.
  • Prior experience reviewing the work of others, with a minimum of 2 years in a review-oriented capacity.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Strong background in financial reporting, fund accounting, and annual reporting cycles.
  • Knowledge of SEC financial reporting is valuable, particularly in investment or fund-related settings.
  • Proven ability to research and interpret technical accounting matters and apply sound, detail-focused judgment.
  • Experience with fund of funds structures is preferred.
