Opportunity for temp-to-hire based on performance and business needs Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Fraud Analyst to support fraud detection, investigation, and mitigation efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience identifying fraudulent activity across multiple payment channels and possess a strong understanding of financial institution fraud risks. This role is responsible for reviewing fraud alerts, investigating suspicious activity, assessing risk, and recommending appropriate actions to protect members, customers, and the organization from financial loss. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze fraud alerts generated through Verafin and other fraud monitoring systems. Identify, investigate, and mitigate potential fraudulent activity across various transaction channels. Conduct thorough investigations of suspicious transactions, account activity, and fraud cases. Escalate high-risk or complex fraud situations to appropriate stakeholders. Assess fraud risk and recommend appropriate actions using sound judgment and established procedures. Support fraud prevention and loss mitigation efforts related to: Account takeover fraud Check fraud ACH transactions Wire transfers Bill pay activity ATM transactions Document investigative findings and maintain accurate case records. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve fraud-related issues and minimize losses. Stay current on fraud trends, emerging threats, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications Strong knowledge of Breach of Warranty claims and check fraud investigations .
Working knowledge of:
ACH transactions Wire transfers Bill pay services ATM transactions Experience identifying, researching, and investigating account takeover fraud . Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud prevention, fraud investigations, loss prevention, financial crimes, or a related field. Experience using Verafin fraud monitoring software.
Professional certifications such as:
ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) CAFS (Certified AML and Fraud Specialist) Similar industry certifications Prior experience working in a credit union or financial institution back-office environment .
