Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Loan Officer and welcome candidates with either an agricultural lending or commercial lending background. The selected candidate will focus primarily on the lending area that best aligns with their experience and the bank's needs. The Loan Officer plays a key role in the bank's growth and profitability by building strong customer relationships, making sound lending decisions, managing credit risk, and generating new business. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building lasting relationships, understanding customers' financial needs, and being actively involved in the local community. Primary Responsibilities Develop and manage a loan portfolio while building strong customer relationships. Analyze financial information and loan requests to make sound lending decisions. Structure, document, and monitor loans in accordance with bank credit standards. Develop new business and deepen existing customer relationships. Partner with Loan Operations and other bank teams to provide an excellent customer experience. Maintain compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements while representing the bank positively in the community. If Your Background Is in Agricultural Lending Your primary responsibilities may include: Manage agricultural customer relationships and lending opportunities. Work with farm operating, farm real estate, equipment, and other agriculture-related loans. Develop an understanding of customers' farming operations, cash flows, financial needs, and seasonal lending cycles. Analyze agricultural financial information and evaluate repayment capacity and collateral. Develop new agricultural business and strengthen existing customer relationships. Participate in agricultural organizations, events, and community activities that support relationship and business development. If Your Background Is in Commercial Lending Your primary responsibilities may include: Manage commercial customer relationships and lending opportunities. Analyze business financial statements, cash flow, credit requests, and other relevant financial information. Structure commercial loans based on customer needs, repayment capacity, collateral, and overall credit risk. Monitor commercial relationships and identify changes in financial performance or credit quality. Develop new business relationships with local businesses and deepen relationships with existing commercial customers. Participate in business and community activities that support relationship and business development. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field preferred. Three years of experience in agricultural lending, commercial lending, relationship management, credit analysis, or a related role preferred. Knowledge of lending products, credit analysis, financial risk assessment, and underwriting principles. Experience analyzing financial statements and other borrower financial information. Familiarity with applicable lending regulations, compliance requirements, and banking practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial analysis tools. Strong communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities, work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple customer relationships. Commitment to ethical standards, customer confidentiality, sound lending practices, business development, and professional representation of the bank. Work Schedule This is a full-time, salaried position. Loan Officers must be available during standard branch hours, which may include Saturdays, as well as occasional after-hours community events, customer meetings, or bank-related activities.
