Job Description

Process and coordinate commercial loan applications by collecting, reviewing, and organizing required documentation prior to underwriting review. Maintain communication with business members to obtain financial statements, tax returns, organizational documents, insurance information, and other required loan documentation. Assist the Vice President of Lending by preparing complete loan files, tracking application status, and ensuring required documentation is received in a timely manner. Coordinate annual reviews of the commercial loan portfolio by gathering updated financial information, monitoring documentation requirements, and maintaining review schedules. Perform data entry and maintain accurate loan, collateral, and member records within the credit union's loan origination and core processing systems. Coordinate with attorneys, title companies, appraisers, and other third-party vendors to facilitate commercial loan closings and post-closing documentation. Refer approved business relationships to designated branch managers for ongoing relationship management, account opening, loan closing, deposit growth, and member service activities Prepare reports, pipeline updates, portfolio tracking information, and other administrative support materials for management, committees, and examinations. Including the successful management of the annual review schedules for assigned commercial relationships. Ability to make well-reasoned timely decisions, using research and critical thinking skills. Possess excellent oral, writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Able to input data consistently and correctly regarding loan processing and servicing. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously. Ability to interpret financial documents and business records. Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with members and business partners. The Commercial Lending Officer provides administrative, processing, and portfolio support to the Vice President of Lending and Commercial Lending team. This position is responsible for coordinating the commercial loan application process, collecting, and maintaining required documentation, performing annual portfolio reviews, tracking loan pipeline activity, preparing files for underwriting review, and ensuring loan records are complete and accurate. The Commercial Lending Officer serves as a key liaison between business members, commercial lending staff, branch managers, attorneys, appraisers, and other third-party vendors throughout the lending process. This position does not perform underwriting or make lending decisions. All credit analysis, underwriting, and approval authority remain with the Vice President of Lending. This position is designed to improve efficiency, strengthen portfolio administration, and enhance service to commercial members.
