Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Loan Assistant to join our financial services team. In this vital role, you will support the loan origination process, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and facilitate smooth mortgage and lending operations. Your expertise will help clients achieve their financial goals while maintaining adherence to federal and state lending standards. Duties Assist loan officer with consumer, residential mortgage, and commercial loan applications, including data entry, document collection, and file preparation. Order and/or review credit reports, appraisals, titles, and insurance documentation. Communicate with borrowers to gather required financial documents (e.g., pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements). Track loan progress, follow up on pending items, and update clients on status. Calculate debt-to-income (DTI) ratios, loan estimates, and closing costs. Customer Service & Office Coverage Serve as a point of contact for borrower inquiries (in-person, phone, email). Schedule appointments for loan officers and manage office calendars. Maintain organized loan files and ensure compliance with banking regulations. Assist with loan closings, including preparing documents and coordinating with attorneys/title Loan Officer Support & Coverage Attend local realtor meetings, chamber events, and homebuyer seminars with/on behalf of the loan officer to build relationships. Follow up with realtors, builders, and business partners. Maintain a database of referral partners (realtors, attorneys, insurance agents). Act as primary point of contact for borrowers when the loan officer is unavailable (vacation/sick leave). Handle urgent loan inquiries, process applications, and escalate complex issues as needed. Manage the loan officer's calendar, emails, and voicemails, prioritizing time-sensitive tasks.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel and internet software.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Training:
Completion of in-house training and group learning plan courses at the financial institution

Pay:
$40,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
