Job Description

Position Summary Logan Bank & Trust Company is seeking a motivated, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Loan Officer . As a locally owned community bank, LB&T provides a wide range of lending solutions to individuals, families, and businesses. The Loan Officer will work directly with customers to understand their financial needs, assist with loan applications, evaluate credit requests, develop customer relationships, and help identify lending solutions that meet both the customer's needs and the Bank's lending standards. This position may work with a variety of consumer, residential real estate, and commercial loan products. Lending Products Depending on experience, training, and assigned responsibilities, the Loan Officer may assist customers with: Residential mortgage loans Residential construction loans Home equity loans and home equity lines of credit Automobile loans Motorcycle, ATV, UTV, boat, RV, and other recreational vehicle loans Personal and other consumer loans Commercial real estate loans Business lines of credit Equipment financing Operating capital and other business-purpose loans Primary Responsibilities Meet with customers to discuss their borrowing needs and available loan options. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers. Generate new lending opportunities through customer referrals, community involvement, and business-development activities. Assist customers in completing loan applications and obtaining necessary financial and supporting information. Review credit reports, income information, financial statements, tax returns, collateral information, and other documentation as appropriate. Evaluate loan requests and repayment ability based on the type and complexity of the credit. Structure loan requests in accordance with Bank policies and applicable lending guidelines. Approve loans within assigned lending authority or submit loan requests to the appropriate approval authority. Assist with obtaining appraisals, evaluations, title work, insurance documentation, flood determinations, and other required information. Work with other Bank personnel to ensure loan documentation is complete and consistent with approved terms. Assist with and participate in loan closings. Maintain accurate and complete loan files. Monitor assigned loans and customer relationships after origination. Assist with past-due loans and other servicing matters as needed. Identify opportunities to assist customers with additional Bank products and services. Maintain the confidentiality and security of customer and Bank information. Follow Bank policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable lending and consumer compliance requirements. Maintain any required NMLS registration applicable to assigned job responsibilities. Participate in training and continuing education opportunities. Represent Logan Bank & Trust professionally within the community. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with customers and coworkers. Basic analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn banking and lending software. Willingness and ability to learn Bank lending policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Previous experience in banking, lending, finance, sales, customer service, real estate, accounting, or a related field is helpful but not required for an otherwise qualified candidate . Candidates without direct lending experience may be considered based on their overall experience, skills, education, customer-service ability, and willingness to complete necessary training. If residential mortgage origination duties require registration with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), the successful candidate must be able to meet applicable registration requirements within the timeframe established by the Bank. Preferred, But Not Required Previous banking or lending experience Experience in customer service, sales, finance, accounting, or real estate Experience reviewing financial information or credit reports Familiarity with consumer, mortgage, or commercial lending College coursework or a degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field Knowledge of the local community and surrounding market area Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. While prior lending experience is valuable, we also welcome candidates with strong transferable skills and the ability to develop into the position through training and experience.
