Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Consumer Lending Assistant to join our financial services team. In this vital role, you will support the loan origination process, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and delivering exceptional customer service. Your expertise will help facilitate loan transactions, from application to funding, while maintaining strict adherence to federal and state lending guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within the lending industry and contribute to helping clients achieve their financial goals through responsible lending practices. Responsibilities Assist loan officers with the preparation and processing of loan documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness Support the loan origination process by gathering necessary borrower information, verifying credit reports, and conducting preliminary credit analysis Manage communication with clients, internal teams, and external partners to facilitate smooth loan processing and underwriting workflows Maintain detailed records of loan files, documentation, and compliance checks using Encompass or similar mortgage servicing software Assist in loan underwriting activities by reviewing financial documents, verifying income, assets, and liabilities in line with industry best practices Support loan servicing functions by tracking loan status updates, preparing disclosures, and ensuring adherence to TILA (Truth in Lending Act) requirements and other appropriate federal/state regulations Qualifications Proven experience in loan origination or loan processing within the financial services industry Familiarity with TILA, Fair Housing laws, and banking regulatory standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally across diverse audiences Solid understanding of credit analysis principles and basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations and data verification Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance in all tasks Join us to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to providing responsible lending solutions that empower our clients' financial futures.
