Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our Holiday Inn Express team. This position is responsible for overseeing overnight front desk operations, completing nightly financial reconciliation, providing excellent guest service, and preparing the hotel for a smooth start to the morning. This is primarily a weekend position, working 3-4 overnight shifts per week , with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights required. The Night Auditor will also assist with early morning breakfast setup , helping ensure the breakfast area is clean, stocked, and ready for our guests. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, stays organized during overnight hours, and takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for our guests. Key Responsibilities Night Audit & Financial Responsibilities Complete nightly audit procedures and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. Balance cash, credit card transactions, and other financial activity. Prepare and review daily financial reports. Ensure records are accurate and follow hotel policies and procedures. Guest Service & Front Desk Operations Welcome and assist guests with overnight check-ins, check-outs, and requests. Provide friendly, professional customer service throughout the overnight shift. Handle guest questions, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally. Manage reservations, room assignments, and updates within the hotel's property management system. Communicate important guest or operational concerns to the appropriate team members. Overnight Hotel Operations Monitor the hotel and maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment throughout the night. Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, or unexpected situations. Complete nightly logs, reports, and required documentation. Perform routine front desk and hotel tasks to support smooth overnight operations. Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area. Breakfast Setup Assist with early morning breakfast preparation and setup. Restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed. Ensure the breakfast area is clean, organized, and ready for guests. Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Provide a welcoming start to the morning for our guests. Communication & Team Support Communicate important information, guest concerns, and overnight activity to the morning team. Ensure a thorough handoff between overnight and morning shifts. Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, and management when needed to support overall hotel operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hotel, front desk, night audit, customer service, or food service experience is preferred. Strong attention to detail and basic math skills. Comfortable using computers and learning hotel management software. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours. Dependable, responsible, and punctual. Comfortable working a primarily weekend overnight schedule. Schedule 3-4 overnight shifts per week Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights are required Additional overnight shifts may be available as needed. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry light to moderate items. Ability to move throughout the hotel as needed. Ability to perform breakfast setup and restocking duties.
