HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS GRAND BLANC FRONT DESK 3RD SHIFT DUTIES
Shift Hours:
11:00 PM - 7:00 AM When 3rd shift arrives, count the drawer to make sure it is balanced before 2nd shift leaves. Check the front desk log book and communicate with 2nd shift about anything important to know for the day. Go check the pool area and make sure all dirty pool towels are taken to laundry. Inspect linen and towels to make sure there are no stains before washing. Put clean towels and linen in the washer and dryer as needed. Any towels that need to be folded must be taken by bin to the black table by the elevator for folding. While folding, if anything is stained, put it to the side and leave it there until all laundry is complete. After all laundry is complete, put the stained items in the stained bucket in laundry for the laundry attendant to attempt to clean. When all linen is finished, put it back neatly on the shelves. Anytime a guest comes to the lobby, stay at the front desk and take care of the guest fully until the guest leaves. After the guest leaves, finish the rest of your duties. Check all 4 entrance and exit trash cans to make sure they are not full. Make sure the entrance and exit ways are clean. Make sure the lobby area, public bathrooms, fitness center, and swimming pool area are mopped, wiped down, and clean to get ready for the next day. Any time a guest gets coffee, wipe the coffee area to ensure it stays clean. At least 2-3 times during the shift, check each floor to make sure they are clean and there are no guests making excessive noise that could disturb other guests. Always keep the cordless phone on you at all times. At 5:00 AM, perform the audit and complete it. Once the night audit is complete, focus on setting up breakfast for guests. Breakfast hours are 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM Monday through Friday, and 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast attendants come in at 6:15 AM and 6:45 AM on the days breakfast starts later. Breakfast should be completed when they arrive. Breakfast attendants are scheduled 15 minutes early in case of emergencies to come help. Once breakfast hours start, 3rd shift is to stand at the front desk to help any guests. but anytime the breakfast area gets busy you must help the breakfast attendant It is important to note that once an area is cleaned, it does not mean it is left unchecked. It must be checked throughout the shift to make sure it stays clean. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive night audits by reconciling daily financial transactions using property management systems (PMS) such as OPERA or similar platforms. Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all procedures adhere to hotel policies and hospitality standards. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining positive guest relations through friendly phone communication and in-person interactions. Monitor security systems, perform safety inspections, and follow hotel emergency procedures to ensure guest and staff safety throughout the night. Prepare detailed shift reports, incident logs, and audit summaries to facilitate seamless handovers to morning staff. Handle reservations and modifications using hospitality reservation systems, supporting front desk operations during off-hours. Maintain a professional demeanor with excellent phone etiquette while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Proven experience in hospitality management, front desk operations, or hotel management roles. Strong knowledge of property management systems (PMS), especially OPERA or equivalent hotel software. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to problem-solve quickly and effectively. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse guests better. Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures, guest services, and resort experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone communication and client interaction. Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high energy levels and attention to detail. Prior experience in night audit or hotel experience is advantageous; hospitality reservation systems knowledge is essential.
