Sage 300 CRE Software a plus Payroll Specialist is a professional responsible for managing and processing an organization's employee payroll. Calculating employee timesheets, wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Examine and verify the accuracy. Make sure employees are paid correctly, on time, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Processing payroll weekly, accurately and on schedule Managing taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll deductions Maintaining payroll records and employee information Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws Resolving employee questions or issues related to pay Preparing payroll reports and assisting with audits Helping employees navigate the payroll software Problem solving skills. From compliance issues and tax discrepancies to miscalculations, so many problems can arise while processing payroll. A successful payroll administrator needs to be capable of solving any problems that may arise in a competent, logical and efficient manner. You also need to be able to anticipate potential challenges that could complicate matters further. Computer proficiency. Microsoft, Excel, Word documents, admins need to grasp standard programs used at any office. You will also need extensive working knowledge of industry software specifically designed for processing payrolls. Knowing how to use such software will help you organize employee information, streamline payroll processes, and perform your duties more effectively. Math skills. Statutory deductions and tax reports are only part of the responsibilities in this position that require math skills. There's a lot of data, numbers, reconciling and calculations that need to be made with accuracy, so strong numerical skills are crucial for this role. Proficiency in MS Excel is needed. Human Resource (HR) responsibilities involve managing and supporting an organization's employees.
Key responsibilities include:
HR is responsible for attracting, developing, supporting, and retaining employees while ensuring the organization meets its legal and workplace obligations. Communicate with Managers to identify needs and preferred qualifications Interview applicants about their experience, education and skills Contact references and perform background checks Inform applicants about job details such as benefits and conditions Hire or refer qualified candidates Conduct new employee orientations Process paperwork Recruitment and hiring : Advertising jobs, interviewing candidates, and selecting qualified employees. Payroll and benefits : Managing salaries, benefits Health, 401K plan, leave, and other employee-related compensation matters. Training and development : Organizing training programs and supporting employees' professional growth. Performance management : Monitoring employee performance, conducting evaluations, and addressing performance issues. Employee relations : Resolving workplace conflicts and promoting a positive work environment.
Compliance :
Ensuring the organization follows employment laws, OSHA, regulations, and workplace policies. Record keeping : Maintaining accurate employee files and confidential HR information. Manage claims until closed HR policies : Developing and enforcing policies related to attendance, conduct, leave, and workplace behavior. Employee relations.
