full-time Robert Half is supporting a financial services client in the downtown Chicago Loop on an interim Payroll Manager opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and process payroll for exempt and non-exempt multi-state employees Calculating commission payments Efficiently perform all necessary functions to process in-house payroll; including analyzing, preparing, and submitting payroll data for all employees, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings Administer and evaluate timesheets and resolve any timesheet discrepancies Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, payroll practices and procedures Resolve payroll issues Uphold payroll policies to staff Process quarterly, fiscal and calendar year-end reports and assist with fiscal year-end accruals for general ledger posting Plan direct, and coordinate payroll activities and resources to ensure payroll deliverables are completed on time and within budget

Qualifications:

Secure 2.0 experience Multistate payroll experience At least 3 years payroll experience in the finance industry with knowledge of commission payroll is strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with payroll software (Paycor, Workday, MS Office Suite preferred) Benefits available to contract professionals include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
