Job Description

Overview Stevens Accounting Services is a growing CPA firm handling many businesses' bookkeeping needs. As such, we are looking for a new, experienced bookkeeper/accountant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a variety of industries while ensuring compliance with financial standards and supporting organizational growth. You will be instrumental in maintaining precise financial records, managing payroll operations, and contributing to the overall financial health of our clients. Duties Perform bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts. Reconcile balance sheets and perform month-end closing activities following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, governmental regulations, and tax requirements relevant to small business accounting environments. Process payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and payroll regulations. Handle different industries and be able to communicate with a wide variety of owners. Experience Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles. Extensive experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing, including tax filings, deductions, benefits administration, and compliance requirements. Strong proficiency in Excel spreadsheets Knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting. Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately while managing accounts payable/receivable workflows efficiently. Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 25.0 per week
