Back Payroll Coordinator Payroll Waltham , Massachusetts Perm 70000 Oct 4, 2026 $70000.00 - $90000.00 A stable and growing construction company is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join their team in Newton, MA area. This position will report to the Payroll Manager and support weekly in-house payroll processing for a high-volume, multi-state workforce of more than 650 employees. $70,000-$90,000 + discretionary 2-5% bonus 4 days onsite in Waltham , with the opportunity to work remotely after 3 months. The WFH day varies.

• Process weekly payroll for 650+ union and non-union employees, including time, earnings, deductions, taxes, and net pay
• Prepare weekly certified payroll reports and maintain supporting documentation
• Maintain payroll records and employee setup, including new hires, rate changes, and payroll updates
• Handle payroll-related employee questions, garnishments, tax levies, and state reporting
• Assist with year-end payroll audits, reconciliations, and payroll reviews
• Cross-train on union remittances, payroll tax filings, Forms 940/941, and other payroll compliance responsibilities

Job Requirements:

• 2-4 years of multi-state, in-house payroll experience or equivalent
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of gross-to-net payroll calculations, deductions, and payroll taxes
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and confidentiality
