As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Payroll Processor to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and building lasting relationships with clients. Position Summary The Payroll Processor is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time for a portfolio of clients while providing outstanding customer service. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Processor serves as a trusted resource for clients by assisting with payroll questions, employee changes, tax reporting, and payroll compliance. Essential Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner for assigned client accounts. Review employee timecards and payroll reports for accuracy and completeness. Enter and maintain employee information, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, and direct deposits. Process benefit deductions, garnishments, retirement contributions, and other payroll adjustments. Monitor vacation, PTO, and sick leave balances. Prepare and submit new hire reports and other required payroll filings. Process quarterly and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation. Assist with payroll tax notices and communicate with tax agencies, banks, and vendors when necessary. Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation. Respond promptly and professionally to client payroll questions. Identify payroll discrepancies and resolve issues before payroll is finalized. Maintain confidentiality of employee and client information. Assist in documenting payroll procedures and continuously improving internal processes. Stay current on payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired Skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize multiple clients and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service mindset. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Comfortable learning payroll and HR software platforms. Basic accounting and payroll knowledge. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications 2-3 years of payroll processing or bookkeeping experience. Experience with payroll software (Apex Payroll, SwipeClock, or similar systems is a plus). Experience processing payroll for multiple companies. Knowledge of payroll tax compliance and reporting. FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred but not required. Education High school diploma or GED required.
