An Opportunity to Grow, Contribute & Make a Difference Colman Knight Advisory Group | Acton, Massachusetts What if financial planning could be about more than money? We are seeking a full-time Associate Financial Planner beginning a career in financial planning, who is excited about making a difference in the world through the practice of Integral Wealth. Colman Knight is an independent, fee-only Registered Investment Advisor founded in 1988. For nearly four decades, we have helped individuals, families, and entrepreneurs bring greater clarity, confidence, and intention to their financial lives through our distinctive approach, Integral Wealth Planning . Our vision is simple and ambitious: We help people experience their most meaningful life, and the world benefits from their well-being. Our motivation remains steadfast—to genuinely serve with competence, kindness, and dignity in an environment that is safe, empowering, and deeply human. We practice what we offer. What we seek to create with our clients, we seek to create with one another. Our clients are not alone, and neither are our members. Our Opportunity
Entry-level position for someone with a background or degree in finance, financial planning, or a related field who aspires to become a CFP® professional.
Little or no professional financial-planning experience is required.
Work alongside experienced financial planners, learning both the technical craft of comprehensive financial planning and the CK methodology of Integral Wealth Planning.
Learn that excellent financial planning is not simply about investments, taxes, insurance, or retirement projections. Money exists within a person's life—their relationships, aspirations, choices, responsibilities, creativity, and sense of meaning.
Become a financial planner capable of working competently and compassionately with both.
What You Will Learn & Contribute First 12-18 months, develop confidence in CK's systems, technology, Action Plans, Holacracy operating structure, and Integral Wealth methodology while taking more responsibility for client work.
Your responsibilities will progressively include:
Gathering, organizing, and maintaining accurate client financial information.
Becoming proficient in eMoney (financial planning software), CK technology and systems.
Preparing financial-planning base cases and modeling scenarios.
Preparing for and participating in client meetings.
Identifying financial-planning opportunities and questions for further exploration.
Supporting investment and insurance analysis.
Completing client follow-up and helping move recommendations into action.
Clearly communicating with clients using encouragement, appreciation, and care.
Learning Integral Wealth Planning and increasingly contributing your own insight to the work.
We value members who are eager to learn, notice where support is needed, step in willingly and think beyond "my job" toward "our shared purpose." Your Development Matters An exceptional financial planner develops both professionally and personally . Members become increasingly self-aware, discerning, responsible, kind, and capable of meaningful relationships. We value and invest in the development of our members through CFP® education and exam support, mentoring from experienced planners, client exposure, professional conferences, coaching and assessments, and leadership development . We don't expect you to arrive fully formed. We do expect you to participate wholeheartedly in your own development. Openness to learning is an important part of that process. CK feedback is intended as connection, support, and an opportunity for greater awareness , not an indication that something is wrong or a problem. Who Will Thrive Here?
An early-career professional who:
Has a college background or degree in finance, financial planning, or a related field and aspires to become a CFP® professional.
Is genuinely curious about people as well as finance.
Is enthusiastic, dedicated, organized, and attentive to detail.
Communicates clearly and compassionately.
Welcomes coaching, mentoring, and feedback with curiosity rather than defensiveness.
Demonstrates honesty, responsibility, follow-through, and integrity.
Is comfortable learning technology and new ways of working.
Wants to contribute to the whole rather than simply complete assigned tasks.
Wants their professional life to have meaning and positive impact.
Technical knowledge can be developed.
We are especially interested in your capacity and enthusiasm to learn, contribute, and grow . A Path to a Meaningful Career, Not Simply a First Job This position can be the beginning of a meaningful professional path at Colman Knight. As your technical competence, client capabilities, self-awareness, and leadership mature, opportunities may expand into greater client responsibility, and leadership within CK. Opportunities develop through sustained learning, contribution, demonstrated capability, and alignment with CK's purpose and values. If you want to become an excellent financial planner, we can help you develop the craft. If you are also curious about who you might become through practicing that craft—and excited about making a difference through the practice of Integral Wealth —we would like to meet you.
