Job DescriptionRisk Engineering and Risk Insights collectively design, build, and operate data-driven and software-based risk and compliance solutions that integrate into the SDLC and enterprise platforms. The teams apply modern engineering practices to deliver scalable data pipelines, automation, dashboards, and embedded control capabilities that enable TORC to understand risk, drive control-led behaviors, and make timely, evidence-based decisions. The Managing Engineer is a hands-on engineering leader responsible for leading teams that build, deliver, and operate these products in production. This role blends strong technical leadership, people leadership, and delivery ownership, ensuring high-quality, reliable solutions with measurable business and engineering impact.
Role 1: Managing Engineer
•Risk InsightsKey ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a team delivering data products, ETLs, Python automations, dashboards, and reporting solutionsSet technical direction across data ingestion, transformation, automation, and visualizationContribute hands-on to architecture, design reviews, and critical-path Python/ETL/dashboard developmentOwn operational outcomes including data quality, reliability, performance, and dashboard availabilityPartner with TORC leaders, Digital Product Managers, and stakeholders to align on data needs and delivery prioritiesDrive modern data engineering practices including CI/CD, automated validation, monitoring, and reusable data patternsTranslate risk and compliance needs into scalable data models, workflows, and insight-driven solutionsEnable strong agile execution focused on measurable outcomes and business valuePromote a culture of continuous improvement, data accessibility, and trusted reportingEssential Skills5+ years of engineering experience with hands-on Python and data product delivery2+ years leading engineers with technical oversight (architecture, code reviews, delivery coaching)Experience building and operating scalable data pipelines, ETLs, and analytical/reporting systemsStrong experience with data modeling, APIs, backend integrations, and data quality practicesKnowledge of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability, automation)Experience delivering dashboards and translating complex data into actionable insightsExperience working in agile environments with cross-functional stakeholdersRole 2: Managing Engineer
