THE ROLE
The Risk Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration, coordination, and operational management of the Company's risk management function. This position supports the execution of departmental priorities and manages recurring processes related to insurance, OCIP, claims, litigation support, compliance, reporting, and cross-functional risk support. The Risk Manager serves as an operational liaison among internal departments, brokers, carriers, outside counsel, vendors, and other advisors, and escalates strategic, material, or high-risk matters to the Vice President.
DAY IN THE LIFE
Administer day-to-day Risk Department operations by managing recurring deadlines, workflow coordination, documentation practices, tracking tools, reporting processes, and follow-through on assigned departmental priorities. Coordinate operational insurance processes, including renewals, exposure data collection, certificates of insurance, policy schedules, audits, OCIP administration, bonds and surety requests, workers' compensation support, and broker or carrier requests. Administer claims and matter management processes, including claims reporting, legal and claims trackers, self-insured retentions, warranty spend, matter status reporting, document requests, and legal holds. Support compliance, licensing, construction risk, and related cross-functional risk processes. Provide risk-related support to internal business partners, including Legal, Finance, People Success, Purchasing, Construction, and Sales. Prepare, maintain, and distribute recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Legal Studies, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in risk management, insurance, claims, compliance, legal operations, construction, real estate, or related business operations. Homebuilding, construction, real estate development, broker, carrier, vendor, or claims administration experience preferred. ARM, CPCU, CRM, CIC, or similar risk, insurance, claims, or compliance certification preferred.
